CA 125
Cancer antigens (CA) are substance that are found elevated in the blood of patients with certain types of cancer, including ovarian cancer. Among biomarkers CA125 has one of the highest sensitivity and specificity for ovarian cancer. However, it is also found elevated in malignancies of different origin, women with nongynecological diseases such as tuberculosis and liver cirrhosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, uterine fibroids, or physiological conditions such as pregnancy or different phases of the menstrual cycle. Thus CA125 in combination with other relevant test help diagnose ovarian cancers better.

CA-72-4
Cancer antigen 72-4 (CA72-4) is a glycoprotein that is found elevated in blood in case of gastric, colon, breast, and ovarian adenocarcinomas. Thus, CA72-4 is recommended to be used in combination with CA125 for the detection of ovarian cancer. Unlike CA125 it is not influenced by inflammatory and physiological conditions.

CEA
Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) is an oncofetal glycoprotein. CEA is overexpressed and thus is used as biomarker in ovarian carcinoma. Study suggest, CEA in combination with CA125 can improve ovarian cancer diagnosis thus recommended as part of noninvasive ovarian test panel.

HE4
Human epididymus protein 4 (HE4) is a epithelial disulfide-core protein found in lining of lungs and reproductive organs. It is found elevated in ovarian cancer. The measure of this protein in blood is employed for diagnosis as well as treatment followup purpose in ovarian cancer patients.
